Retirement Lists aims to make retirement-location research useful, auditable, and honest about what public data can and cannot tell you.
Independence
Rankings, city inclusion, and editorial conclusions are not sold or changed in exchange for payment. Commercial relationships, advertising, and affiliate arrangements are disclosed and do not determine rankings.
Research and sources
We prefer government, academic, institutional, and other authoritative primary sources. Guides name the sources actually used and explain their limits when a source cannot answer an individual, neighborhood, or property-specific question.
Facts, estimates, and models
Directly reported facts, calculated values, planning estimates, modeled scores, and editorial assessments are different kinds of information. We label them separately and do not present an estimate or model as an exact personal outcome.
Corrections and updates
We correct material errors when they are identified and update the visible date after a substantive review or meaningful content change. We do not refresh dates simply to make a page appear current.
Automation and AI
Tools may help organize, calculate, or draft information, but published material is reviewed before publication. Automation does not replace source review, editorial judgment, or clear disclosure of limitations.
